Student Ministries

VFC Youth Group strives to engage the culture with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and present the Gospel in a creative way that students can relate to without compromising it. With challenging messages, we encourage students to be confrontational with the sin in their lives and to live a war like lifestyle pursuing righteousness.

Teens spend the majority of their time in 3 places during their student years: school, home, and their hang out spot is. Valley Fellowship Church’s Youth Group is created to be that third place in a students life, by making it a place that is fun, relevant, and positive, a student can spend that time in a positive environment that is pleasing to God.

TEENS – PEOPLE

Youth Group has a variety of teens from several communities and school districts. We consider all who come to be part of a family, that we are in this fight together and that together we can do big things for God. We are pushing to be a community changing movement, that is a direct reflection of Christ. We strive to be creative in presentation without compromising the Gospel. We encourage contemporary Christian music, such as Christian hip hop and Christian rock; we believe that music is an outreach tool that young people can relate to, not only in our nights of ministry, but on a daily basis as individuals.

As a ministry philosophy, Valley Fellowship Church believes that it is the church’s role to come alongside parents in raising Warriors for Christ. Equipping them to go into the world with the saving power of the Gospel. We consistently focus on team building, teaching them valuable principles in working with others, sharpening their communication skills, and giving them problem solving qualities that young people tend to lack. We also consistently strive to have an attitude of worship, pursuing to have a constant atmosphere of freedom while worshiping, teaching them that everything we do is an act of worship. Especially while worshiping through song, we are not to be ashamed or worried about the perception of others.

STUDENTS – PURPOSE

1 Timothy 6:12-14, “(12) Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (13) I charge you in the presence of God who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, (14) to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,”.

Our purpose is to raise up young men and women who are prepared and willing to stand on the wall with weapon in hand like Nehemiah, who will not back down, who will not give in. To rebel against the world’s low expectations that society places on them, that being a Christian is more than just on Sunday mornings or just listening to Christian radio stations. Being a Christian is about dying daily to our fleshly desires and picking up our cross everyday in defiance of sin, so that others can see the hope we have in our Savior, and training students for the battle of life and to run the race which is set before them, and that life is a fight to stay righteous so that they as individuals can fulfill the calling to which they are called. We believe that the youth of today need to hear the truth that is the word of God, not watered down and spoon fed, but the whole truth which is sometimes harsh. That a healthy fear of God is necessary to have a biblical intimate relationship with him. We encourage them at every level that now is the time for them to do big things for God. That being a teenager isn’t just a stepping stone in life that is there just for fun. That God wants to use them now and later. We encourage our students to serve in the church, and to love the church as Christ loves his Bride, and that service is a necessary thing in order to grow. Only when we serve do we truly imitate Christ.

Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

Our goal is to equip young people for confrontation with the world, that the only defense the world has against the word of God is to shame us, “his people”. Therefore we are to be unashamed of the Gospel on every level. That they, as followers of Christ, are placed here on this earth for one purpose only, to glorify God. From their actions to the music they listen to, it is all to glorify His holy name, creating a lifestyle that pleases Him and is a constant process of spiritual growth.
